Help Us Grow Safely (HUGS) is a community based training that teaches how to safely and effectively intervene in negative adult/child interactions in an effort to prevent child maltreatment. Any group or individual interested in breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect may participate. You will learn:
• How to identify the types of child abuse
and physical and behavioral signs.
• Techniques to safely and effectively
intervene in a stressful parent-child
interaction.
• Distinguish between the myths and
facts associated with abuse and neglect.
Treatment:
The Turning Point offers adult and
adolescent
Outpatient Treatment Programming for
individuals who have court ordered treatment
or meet the, “at risk population” where
addiction has effected their lives. We also
offer a Women’s Support and Recovery Group
targeted specifically for women who have
addiction or abuse issues, as well as
parental issues, sexual abuse, suffer
domestic violence or self-esteem issues. Our
Adolescents group is targeted specifically
for teenagers at their level to understand
at risk behaviors of addiction and/or abuse
that have affected their lives. The Turning
Point staff offers the skills and education
needed for these teenagers to use in coping
with every day life. This assists teens to
keep clean and sober and to handle the
pressures of being a teenager and to say no.
These groups are in addition to
individual counseling, case management,
crisis intervention and a full spectrum of
drug and alcohol programs tailored for
adults, gender specific groups, and teens
that are offered and provided at The Turning
Point Inc.
Drug and
Alcohol screening for Employers:
The
Turning Point offers a low cost drug and
alcohol screening service as part of a new
hire process or as a random employee
screening to many local area businesses.
Businesses can realize discounts on their
workers
compensation insurance by instituting
drug-screening procedures at their
workplace.
Gender Specific
and Population Groups:
Gender specific groups for women,
men and adolescents suffering from substance
abuse, domestic violence, or other issues
affecting self-esteem are empowered to
assist in their recovery.
